LOCMAN Spa is
an industrial company specialised in the design and production
of top-class watches. It heads a group of participating
companies and is based in Marina di Campo, Isola d'Elba,
with separate offices in Milan, New York, Paris, and Düsseldorf.
With over a thousand points of sale in the most exclusive
jewelers and partnerships with the most prestigious luxury-goods
sellers in the world, LOCMAN has convinced many VIPs to
wear its watches: unique, fun with a peculiar character,
innovative, trendy, and yet not too loud.
LOCMAN set a
new fashion by marketing its highly sophisticated accessories
all over the world, from Marina di Campo on to New York
City: an all-Italian adventure, conceived in the very heart
of Tuscany - on the Isola d'Elba, one of the most beautiful
islands in the world - and enthusiastically developed by
a close team that turned the way of life of a small Mediterranean
island into a lifestyle.
The business
idea was originally conceived in 1986, although the big
leap that decreed the company's success was in 1997, when
LOCMAN decided to quit watchmaking on behalf of other brands
and went on to launch its own original models. The aim was
clear: to conquer a market niche by marketing new, trendy
watches without competing directly against established leading
brands. LOCMAN decided to cater for upmarket consumers looking
for new, exclusive products, a fashion-conscious market
niche sensitive to the charm of avant-garde designer accessories
which stand well away from tradition yet bear top quality
hand-made finishings.
The LOCMAN best-selling
oversized watches are the aluminum models, either set with
diamonds or in the more casual Sport version. The latest
and even more surprising LOCMAN watches from the NUOVO collection
feature a soft design playing upon its seductive oval shapes.
The highlight of this collection is NUOVO CARBONIO, the
new LOCMAN model for 2002/2003, the first watch in the world
with a carbon fiber case.
The LOCMAN production
indeed stands out for its attention to any opportunity offered
by state-of-the-art technology. The breaking news of the
first few days of 2003 is that LOCMAN founded a new company,
MATERIE FUTURE, with the aim of studying and producing hi-tech
materials such as titanium and carbon fiber.
